Understanding the organization and their goals

WolverineSoft, a completely student-run and non-profit organization, has united students of all disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels in a single organization with one mission: to support and foster the student game development community.

Tails of War is a 3D top-down strategy game inspired by the mechanics and style of Wargroove. The project aimed to create a unique strategic experience while learning from the design, combat mechanics, and visual appeal of Wargroove.

This Production Timeline was a cornerstone in harnessing the team's collective talents and driving the project's UI/UX from ideation to the polished end product.

Task Breakdown for UI/UX Squad

Based on the given sprint goal and timeline, create a task list for the squad at the beginning of each sprint. This list will be further refined during the squad's meetings and finalized during a meeting with departmental leads for any necessary adjustments.

Jira Task Management

After meeting, I will manage and prioritize tasks, while also tracking the progress of each sprint to maintain project transparency and keep all team members aligned with their responsibilities.

Playtest the Build

I orchestrate efficient weekly playtesting sessions, ensuring game builds are pre-loaded and assigning note-takers to identify and document bugs in Confluence,all within a structured 30-minute timeframe.

A key takeaway from managing the UI/UX aspects of Tails of War would be the importance of integrating agile methodologies with effective team coordination. This project has reinforced the value of meticulous planning, from detailed task breakdowns to efficient use of tools like Jira and Confluence. Regular playtesting and adaptive response to feedback have been crucial in refining the user experience. The experience highlights how combining strategic project management with a collaborative team environment can lead to successful, user-focused game development.
